SPONSORSHIP
High Desert QU is now a sponsor of the Apple Valley Youth Shotgun Team. We have received a check for $500.00 which is the first half of a $1,000.00 grant from the National Shooting Sports Foundation. The grant will be used to help promote the Apple Valley Youth Shotgun Team, which will include equipment, ammo and education in the handling and use of firearms. There are approx 10-12 members of this youth team, and several members joined our chapter with youth memberships in QU at the meeting where Chairman Cruz Garcia announced our sponsorship of the team. These youngsters are the future of our sport, and possibly the future of the conservation work we do in the desert with guzzler repairs and our Water For Wildlife program. Not only that, some of them can shoot rings around most of us. We want to welcome them into Quail Unlimited and our chapter.
